Can anyone recommend an online backup website i.e. a website where I can store a copy of my files?

I use Carbonite for this. It costs about £42 per year, and you install a piece of software which backs up your files - which are encrypted - in the background. http://www.carbonite.com

There are plenty of other alternatives, as well - just google for online or cloud backup.

How about Dropbox or sugarsync. Both offer a reasonable amount of free space. Sugarsync regularly makes sure that the file on your computer is the same as the one on their server. I use is for VT backups, once you set it up you never need to worry about it again.

I also use Carbonite as well. Seems to be pretty good. I think it's SO importnat to have things back-up. That's why when my bank Barclays told me about their back-up service I decide to use this as well! You can never ne too safe. I think it was only about £3 per month as well........

Same as Kris, I recently moved from Dropbox to Sugarsync because of the extra space.
