Are you compliant? What have you done to your website to ensure you comply with The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003?
To quote Steve "You seem to have me confused with someone who gives a shit" lol.
Actually, joking aside, I don't put cookies on peoples computers so no requirement for me to do anything as far as I can see.
Had a quick read of the 2011 legislation and scan read a help page and I don't think that it affects me.
Shaun.

Is the forum compliant yet? Cookies to recognise logged in users to save them the effort of logging in again each time would probably come under the guise of cookies necessary for the site's functionality - but how many other cookies are set, such as third party ones from all the adverts?
That aside, to answer the original question: Of my sites, four set third party cookies from adverts, of which I've dealt with three of them by removing the adverts. Those three are WordPress based, and I've fiddled around so that users don't even have to log in anymore if they wish to comment. I've added a warning immediately above the comment form, though, to the effect that when a comment is posted, three [identified] cookies are set to allow the site to remember the commenter's details for next time, finishing with something along the lines of "If you do not want to give your consent for those cookies to be set, don't post a comment." I really couldn't be bothered to do anything more than that.
The fourth site of mine that sets cookies is my main site - and AFAICR it's just a third party advertising cookie and no others (unless my contact form does - I'd have to check). I haven't dealt with that one yet because it's a few years out of date anyway, and overdue for a redesign. I might simply take it down, and just throw up a simple/temporary page to allow people to still download my software, and then redesign it at a later date.
None of my other sites go anywhere near cookies.
For those who are unsure about whether or not their sites use cookies, there's a handy tool available for Chrome for auditing the cookies that your website sets:

Incidentally, I should probably add I'm not complaining about the site's cookies. To be totally honest, the law in this case is very definitely a donkey.
