BKN FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE CHALLENGE
Permalink Closed

Howdy BKNers

Well who would have thought the premiership football is almost upon us and as such for anyone who wants to take part we are setting up a BKN Fantasy Premier League Challenge.

The challenge will last the entire season and managers can make transfers every week, the format is you have 100 million to spend on a squad of 15 players. The site offers prizes so even a chance of picking up something for nothing!!!

To take part first you will need pick your team my logging on to http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ and register

Once you have done this click on leagues and then join a league. The password for the BKN challenge is 247050-71071

Depending on the number of entrants there may be a small prize or even a trophy? How hard is it to get money from an Accountant? Steve this is your starter for 10 lol

Season kicks off late August so plenty of time to sign up and do some tweeking prior to the opening game.

We had just over 20 take place for the Euro comp so lets hope we can beat this.

Good luck to those that join.

Dave

Edited for mistake which is part and parcel of being a middle aged man from Birmingham

Brilliant, and really funny had me and the boss going through other monty python sketches and of course the master himself Spike Milligan, you do realise you are responsible for the surge in YOUTUBE usage and lack of Training Link employee productivity lol

Hello,

I'm up for doing this - although I don't know much about football...what do they say it's the taking part that counts.

Anyway I have registered but can't find out how to join the league.... any pointers in the right direction would be great.

Thanks
Ann-marie

Hi Ann-Marie

Good to have you on board and as you dont know a lot about football you will probably win lol. As for setting up on the football, all you need to do (easier said than done) is log on and then click on football fantasy league, select your team and then click on leagues which you will find highlighted at the top of the page, then you can click on the tab which says join a league, you will be prompted to enter the league number 247050-71071 and then your in.

Hope this is of help
Dave

Hi All,

First post for me, I have been registered a few months now thought it time to make a comment biggrin.

Registered for the Fantasy League looking forward to the start of the season like Ann-Marie football is not my strong point (more of a golfer) but should be fun.

I'll be registering too in the next few days.

I'm hoping to follow up my BKN Euro success - but can I do it over a whole season?? I guess we'll find out.

Good luck to everyone participating.

Great News, there will be a trophy to the winner of the BKN Fantasy Football League, BKN in conjuction with Training Link will present the winner of the Football challenge with a returnable Trophy, winner gets to keep the trophy for one season where it will be handed to the next seasons winner assuming there is enough interest. All winners names will be engraved on the trophy and therefore secure a place in BKN Fanatsy Football Folk law, of course we rely on the honesty of the winner returning the trophy but if you cant trust an Accountant/Bookkeeper then who can you trust? And be warned any winner not returning the trophy will be named and shamed lol, winners we know who you are lol. Of course the plan is that I will be the winner each and every year. If you have not signed up already you only have a few days to go, and remember there are site prizes as well. Do you have what it takes to win the BKN/Training Link Challenge Cup, got to be in it to win it!!!!!! GO GO TEAM BKN lol.

Have a great weekend

Heres a tip, Van Persie is signing for Man U and is fit to face Everton, Team GB players from the Olympics will have a fitness edge and may score well in the first couple of weeks, for example Tom Cleverley who was Englands best player last night against italy, this comp is costing me and Steve from BKN money so come on more sign ups please. Forgive the grammar lol Im a BRUMMIE

FOOTBALL UPDATE

Well only 2 games gone and the BKN/Training Link Fantasy league is taking shape with the early running being made by

1. Jeremy Robbins
2. Mark Lovejoy
3. Nick Craggs

Still loads of points to play for so use your tranfers well! As an incentive to those at the bottom of the table I will give them the wooden spoon, but in the shape of a deluxe box of chocs from Hotel Choclat Mmmmmmm but this will be for the team that is nearest the bottom that have played the game in its entirity, this meaning of course should you finish last and not played or made transfers then the chocs go the place above. So no giving up lol.

Should you be transferring out more than 4 or 5 players dont forget you have a wildcard which means no points deducted for transfers. Jeremy we are comin for ya lol.

Good Luck
Dave

Hi Dave & fellow challengers

Thanks for the mention... does not take much for it to all turn around.

Interesting week this one with no Chelski or Reading game and the transfer deadline potentially taking some players outside the PL - use the wildcard wisely..

Another tip is to get your transfers done early in the week as the prices rise with the number of transfers made for a specific player... take Michu for example! Think his price rose by 0.5m in a week!

Last tip is to ensure you have no Liverpool players haha - they are all rubbish! My only one was at Swansea when I set the team up so think I am excused!

Cheers

Jeremy

So Fantasy Football is on international break this weekend which means we have to make sure our players dont get injured if they are playing for their countries.

Game week 3 saw the BKN/Training Link League leader gaining an impressive 72 points maintaining his lead but 3rd place Nick Craggs drops out of the top 3.

Top 3 are now as follows

1. Optegra Rocks 240pts (Jeremy Robbins)
2. Hometown Refugees 202pts (Mark Lovejoy)
3. Brizzas Villians 175pts (Ross Brinsdon)

Training Link staff Rob Hupston and Dave Campbell take up 4th and 5th spot but a long way behind the leader, but still plenty of time to catch up. Well done Jeremy lets hope you have a stinker in game week 4 lol

Howdy BKNers

Well the Olympics are over, Andy Murray wins his first Grand Slam, and we all come down to earth with a bump thanks to a lack lustre display from England, Scotland Wales and N Ireland in the football internationals, but fear not my workaholic BKNers for this weekend sees the return of the BKN/Training Link fantasy football league, its transfer time so dont forget to check out all the new players that have been bought in at the end of the official transfer window, so pick well and dont forget your wildcard should you need to use it. Will update after the next round of games.

Good luck and have a great weekend

So Pauline has used her Wildcard and I so very nearly did but hanging on to it for a short while I think.

The top 3 all remain the same this week with top scorer Ross Brinsdon on a cool 60 points, good news is some points have been caught up on the leader so still lots to play for.

1. Optegra Rocks (Jeremy Robbins)
2. Hometown Refugees (Mark Lovejoy)
3. Brizzas Villians (Ross Brinsdon)

Will there be any changes to the top 3 after this week?

Lot of good it did me! lol  Got 3 Swansea players and Swansea lost, Michu got booked and Routledge only played 56 mins!  Tevez didn't score and neither did Torres. Man City can't seem to keep a clean sheet.

What is Jeremy's secret (apart from having Van Persie)?

Dont worry too much Pauline still lots of time to catch up. Jeremy got off to a flyer but is there to be aimed at, just looked at your team and its not too bad, both Tevez and Torres could score well this week, Dzeko I would not have in as he is not certain to play and played in champions league last night and man city now have all strikers fit, I would have thought Dzeko is at the bottom of the pecking order, will be shouting your team on this week biggrin

Lol....thanks for the tips Dave. I did have Aguerro and not Dzeko, but then he got himself injured in the first game of the season!

I may be shouting my team on this week (shame about last night) but it might be muted shouting as they are playing Arsenal which is who my son supports, so there may be a bit of in-fighting at home! -:)

Problem with being on Top Jeremy is there is only one place you can go, if you can avoid us closing on you over the course of the season you would have done it the hard way, much rather be chasing than leading lol.

As for Accountex 2012 hope it goes well for you, might be an idea to do a BKN blog on the event? I will be doing the same for the ICB conference, be good for fellow members? Back to football, shall I use my wildcard, really tempted but dont do my team until Saturday morning so time will tell.

Pauline I used to love the in-house banter but my Son and Daughter have fled the nest and my other half hates sport and she is now a sky sports widow in return I have to put up with the soaps and reality TV lol, Oh the things we have to put up with eh?

Good news is that BKN Fantasy kicks off again tomorrow so dont forget your subs need to catch Jeremy up, cant have him becoming complacent lol.

Here we are again with weekend fantasy football to play. Last weeks top scorer Nick gets 2 free transfers this week as he never used any last week, so expecting another good week from you Nick I think my wildcard is calling me????? Pauline to improve her chances appears to be wishing amnesia upon herself, which is just as well for me as she still owes me £1000 lol

Good luck and have a great weekend.

A bad week for league leader Jeremy only scoring 25 points meaning the gap is not so big with Ross Brinsdon only 33 points off the lead, Mark Lovejoy moves back into 3rd place.

1. Optegra Rocks (Jeremy Robbins) 368 points Wk 25
2. Brizzas Villians (Ross Brinsdon) 335 points Wk 45
2. Hometown Refugees (Mark Lovejoy) 330 points Wk 53

Top scorer this week with 60 points was Christine Kitching with her Bakewell Tarts FC team, Chris is my other half so no bragging rights in my house this week

D Day for the BKN awards today so good luck to all those who have been nominated.

Another international break after this weeks games, and I find myself wishing my life away not only for the BKN/Training Link football challenge but the ICB conference, I could understand it if I was single lol. League leader Jeremy will be looking to extend his lead after losing ground in last weeks games. Good luck dont forget to make your substitutions before 11.00 am on Saturday. Will update on Monday morning. Have a great weekend BKNers.

Is anyone else having problems logging into the Fantasy Premier League site this weekend?  I keep putting my details in and it just keeps going back to the log in screen.  I have tried clearing cache, cookies, browsing history etc and tried two different browsers but sometimes it logs me in and sometimes it doesn't.

Just when I seem to be doing quite well this week!
