Sage 50 Accounts on 2 PCs
Permalink Closed

I went to see a potential client this afternoon, who is using Sage 50 Accounts Professional 2011.

He has a girl who maintains the sales ledger.  Then, the ex-bookkeeper would come in, take a backup of their system, install it on her laptop (which also had Sage installed on it), update the purchase ledger, do the VAT, then re-install it onto their system.  In the meantime, the girl who does the sales would be working on her PC doing something else.

The issue I have is that I don't have Sage and to buy it would costs more then the job is worth.  Can I ask the client to install Sage on another PC for me to use?  Is that allowed or not?

It will depend on the licence the client has with Sage.

What type of licences are there? What exactly am I looking for?

Sage licences cover the number of companies you can have and the number of users who can use sage.

If you click on help/about inside sage and then goto licence info, it should display the current licence your client has.
