I was wondering whether there is a minimum number of days you have to give an employee as sick days i.e. like an allowance?
It is just that one of my clients have an employee who is sick and they have decided to pay her half her normal wages for 3 weeks (due to loyalty) before changing that to SSP. I was wondering is there a point at which you stop paying the employee all together?
I think these things should be set out in the contract of employment otherwise nothing for first three days off sick and then SSP with a sicknote from doctor after more than 7 days sick.
