Accounting period in sage

Client set up company in Sage with company details etc.

I have been passed over the laptop from the client who set the accounting period in sage as incorrect. I have input 11 months of data in sage, with one month left to go - is there a way to change the dates in sage for the accounting period? otherwise i will not have a complete accounting period in sage.

As far as i know once you start posting into a year in SAGE you cant change your year end date.

What you will need to do is run two separate year ends.  One for the 11 months and one for the 1 months then add the P&L accounts for both together to give you the cumulative 12 months.  The balance sheet will of course be that of the 1 month period.  Remember when you balance forward to do your one month that you set the year end correct so that when you close down at the end of that month you can then balance forward correctly for the next 12 months.

You can change the year end in certain versions of Sage.

What version are you using - eg Sage Instant 2012, Sage Professional 2012 etc?

I may be able to do this for you and send you the file straight back if you like.

Or if you have Sage Cover they may be able to do it for you.

Thanks

Jeremy

Hi Jermey,

I had Sage Instants v15, however I also have a copy of Sage professional 2011. Therefore I was able to restore the file in Sage professional and change financial year date.

Thank you for your help
