All the invoics have been inputted and he wants them to be off set against the banking ones.

Hi Alfie,

Not quite sure what it is you are looking to do? Is this a new set up of Sage? How has he transferred the banking entries....as supplier/customer payments and bank payments and receipts? Are they all just showing as entries on the bank account in Sage and you have to match them off against the invoices you have entered?

Yes the sage has just been set up.

That is exactly what he is asking me to do,

'Are they all just showing as entries on the bank account in Sage and you have to match them off against the invoices you have entered?'

I can't see how to do this, as there is only an opening bank balance and nothing else

Thanks

So there is nothing on the bank account except the opening bank balance....this is all he has transferred? He hasn't entered any payments or receipts from this current year? If so then you will have to get copies of his bank statements and enter them yourself.

You need to go to the Bank module (make sure the correct bank account is highlighted if you have more than one) and then click on Supplier (payment) or Customer (receipt), click the drop down box and chose the correct Supplier/Customer, whereupon the outstanding invoices will be showing in the window. You then need to enter the date and click Pay in Full against each invoice that you are paying or receiving money against and then click Save. The same applies to bank payments or bank receipts where there is no Supplier or Customer involved.

Sorry if I've misunderstood what you are asking and I'm teaching you to suck eggs...lol
