I have a client who is asking me to work on his 2012 sage. He has transfered all his banking figures from excel to the sage. I have not used this version before especialy this type of transaction. All the invoics have been inputted and he wants them to be off set against the banking ones. Can anyone help me with this urgently as he wants me to try and finis it on Monday.
Not quite sure what it is you are looking to do? Is this a new set up of Sage? How has he transferred the banking entries....as supplier/customer payments and bank payments and receipts? Are they all just showing as entries on the bank account in Sage and you have to match them off against the invoices you have entered?
So there is nothing on the bank account except the opening bank balance....this is all he has transferred? He hasn't entered any payments or receipts from this current year? If so then you will have to get copies of his bank statements and enter them yourself.
You need to go to the Bank module (make sure the correct bank account is highlighted if you have more than one) and then click on Supplier (payment) or Customer (receipt), click the drop down box and chose the correct Supplier/Customer, whereupon the outstanding invoices will be showing in the window. You then need to enter the date and click Pay in Full against each invoice that you are paying or receiving money against and then click Save. The same applies to bank payments or bank receipts where there is no Supplier or Customer involved.
Sorry if I've misunderstood what you are asking and I'm teaching you to suck eggs...lol
