There are some exceptions related to cultural events (see 701/47) (#1) but in general a ticket is simply a prepayment of a service so there is no exemption on ticket sales for VAT.
Where things do get a little confused with ticket sales is over agent relations but that's a whole different question
all the best,
Shaun.
#1 apparently if a Zoo if run by a local authority it's a cultural event but if it's privately owned it isn't! Go figure.

No, you actually purchased the tickets and sold them rather than acting as an agent and receiving only the commission on the sale.
Basically for a while you actually owned the tickets. An agent never does, they simply represent a third party in the sale.
