Can I just say (and I'm sorry to boast ) that I'm thrilled and excitimicated to say that Needham Accountancy Ltd has been shortlisted for the above award.
(Blows on fingernails and rubs them on right lapel!)
Liz is FFA, of course she's going to put herself across as an accountant... She is one.
On a separate point. Liz, don't you find it strange that the CCAB bodies seem to have less difficulty accepting IFA members than the AAT members as practicing accountants? Just a random thought there.
Congratulations on the well deserved nomination Liz and best of luck on the day.
Fingers are crossed for you... Oh damn, I've got to type... I really didn't think that one through!
Shaun.

Well done Liz, I assume you will be attending the awards dinner then? Look forward to seeing you there and my fingers are crossed for you, be great to see a BKNer walk off with the award.
I'm am assured that they have gaurds at the doors for such miscreants.
might need to involve a bit of planning, balaclava's and shot guns to pull this thing off properly.

@Liz - well done.
Can I ask you what you put forward as reasons?
I told them about the ethos of my company and submitted three very strong company testimonials.

Thank you, Shaun! On your point, is it possibly because AAT members are seen more as candidates for employment rather than practitioners? It can, of course, work to their advantage in other areas, in that someone taking on a bookkeeper/accountant recognises the AAT qualification more easily than the ICB/IAB ones.

Briefly, our ethos is that everyone one of our clients should feel that they are our only client, that we are as much part of their team as their fulltime employees and that they can depend on us absolutely.
Have you managed to build any systems/processes around this? For example, an employee would request/book holiday in advance so you could do the same with clients.
@Liz - OK, I understand although Kris may have a pop at you because you could help forum members more.
I can think of a number of policies/systems to ensure your ethos is delivered and if you are not I'd recommend you survey clients and measure your dependability and publish the results on your Website.
We are looking at our KPIs at the moment and like what PWC are doing with measuring "Bringing fresh insights to our clients".
