the bank statements simply give evidence that underlying transactions have happened lending credence to the accounts from which one is able to derive the relevant ratio's and trends.

Thats' what i thought. Someone is asking for management accounts to be done from Bank Statements. They are going to have to provide evidence of income and expenses etc and balance sheet info. Bank statements will provide the closing balance of cash on the balance sheet.
I'm sure that some clients just think that we are financial wizards... Literally... We can just pull the right figures out of a hat without proper evidence.
And for next weeks trick apparently you are going to give a breakdown of the fixed assets using only the total figure on the balance sheet.
Sometimes this job makes mission impossible seem like a walk in the park!
