I note mine on sheets of paper, and then every year I have to collect said notes all together and then I type them up into a spreadsheet. I know I should record it all straight into a spreadsheet as I go along, but there always seems to be something better to do.

I'm with the IAB, and all they provide you with is a simple form that can emulated easily which is attached to the application for renewing the compliance certificate.

I just wondered was there anything anyone else does/doing to help record stuff and what sort of things you record.

I've had a look at the paperwork, and I cant see anywhere that I have to provide records and proof attached to the CPD form.... is this right or wrong?

The new 2013 pocket IAB diary, (it arrived a couple of weeks ago) has CPD record pages in the front secction.

I keep the diary with me and find it really useful to record everthing I do in it as its to hand, often just infront of me on my desk or in my "handbag" !!!!

Must admit I like the additional pages in the diary for next year as I use the IAB diary all the time to record stuff but there's not much room on the daily pages.

I tend to jot things down on bits of paper and keep invoices/confirmations/emails of events, courses etc I have attended.

The world is flat and I met a very nice Do-Do the other day.

trust me, I'm an accountant :)

I was thinking that these IABers get pampered with a diary. Only way that I could imagine getting one from the ACCA would be if they emailed it to me! That's a jibe at student accountant going virtual which means that I can't sit on the toilet and read it anymore which is the only time that I ever got time to read it, so now I don't.. But at least PQ magazine is real and what's better it's independent.
