Why not just pick one and focus on that. Who is your ideal client? Once you know that your targeted marketing should be easier and you'll waste less time.

I bought it yesterday Shaun, its ok, but nothing really new or groundbreaking. Nothing you cant find online free.

That saves me buying it them Kris!

I would say target a particular trade and then see what it brings you in? Advertise in business magazines if you have them near you. Website, Twitter, Linkedin and Facebook.

Letters and then follow them up with a phone call.

And lastly NETWORKING, this is the best one of all in my opinion.

Cheers Kris,

Hope that you didn't feel that it was a complete aste of money for you!

if it's readable and you didn't find yourself disagreeing with it then I may give it a try.

My main issue was that I didn't want to waste time reading something that was leading me astray. Even though the information may be out there for free it may well be worth me paying the £7.20 just so that I don't have to spend time firking around finding the information from lots of sources.

You have the advantage that as far as internet marketing goes you are way ahead of me so if you think that its aimed at my sort of level (dummies guide level) rather than yours and that there is no information in there that can harm me then I'll have a read of it.

I say nothing in there that can harm me as in Nick's other book on purchasing Thai real estate there's a serious issue with one part in that between publication (only last July) and now Thai law has changed so that buying property through a Thai limited company is actually illegal and you can end up with property being repossed by the state and you thrown out of the country after paying a hefty fine for attempting to circumvent the very strict laws preventing foreigners owning Thai property.

If this book has the Kris stamp of factually correct approval I will still give it a try as a stepping stone in my knowledge to something better.

Many thanks,

Shaun.

Dont get me wrong, I think if you've never tried advertising through social media then it's worth it.  If you have any more than a basic understading of how facebook and twitter work then don't bother.  I got it for my iPad a bit cheaper than the amazon price, so for about £6 it's not a huge waste of money.  If you're not doing everything he talks about then there could be a really good ROI if you get just 1 new client.

Amanda, I think for yourself, if you can spare the time it may be worth a read.  Especially as you're just starting on the social media road.  I take your point about the time you can waste on trying to find the information for free Shaun.  Much information out there is pretty misleading and can do more harm than good, this book isn't like that.

Kris

Many thanks for the review Kris,

being a social media user who only dips a tentative toe in the shallow end you really need someone such as yourself who knows what they are about in that world to give any guidance the seal of approval.

As you indicate, maybe too basic for yourself but sounds right up Amanda and my streets to get started.

thanks again,

Shaun.

Depends on your budget as well but for a potentially quick win you could try Google Adwords if you have a website or webpage promoting your services.
Networking is good but you'll need to commit to doing this on a regular basis to start seeing a good return. Also, see if you can get any referalls from your existing clients.......
