9 stone, wow, still cute though, I bet she is a good guard dog! One look at her and they would run a mile. Wish I had a dog, still working on the hubby on that one!

Well, we've got a rabbit that thinks that he's a dog.

- Barks.

- Chases cats.

- comes to heel when you stop walking.

- Comes when you whistle.

Not quite 9 stone but he's a fairly meaty little sucker (Netherland dwarf bunny my a**e! If either parent was then the other if definitely a French lop... Or Melanie's dog!).

Sorry, went off at an angle there (you'll get used to that on this site).

Welcome to the forum Melanie. Hope that you enjoy being here,

kind regards,

Shaun.

Thanks for all your welcome messages - just to update you:-

She is a useless guard dog - scared of her own shadow, spiders, bins, pans, dogs, moths and the list is endless!

Yes she still goes on the couch and tries to sit on my knee - especially if she needs protecting from evil spiders!

I have to admit I got my partner a Chihuahua for christmas. Hes never had a dog before, but as I knew I'd end up looking after it, I needed something small and its fits in a bag (!)

We've got two cats, four rabbits, two guinea pigs, a rat and some fish.....AND I have three kids!  (Well, I say kids, they're all grown up now, but two of them still live at home).  Dogs are definitely not on our agenda!

Sorry....welcome to the forum Melanie!

If i had a puppy that big i don't think i'd be shooing it off the sofa either lol.

Welcome Melanie, I'm sure you're potty enough to fit in well lol.

What's that sign on the homepage again? 'You don't have to be mad to post here, but it helps!'

Neil.

Welcome Melanie. I keep badgering my hubby for another dog. In fact I have given the option of baby or dog but he is budging on neither at the moment. We do have 3 kids and a dog who thinks he's human. His excuse is my business is picking up really nicely at the moment and I wouldn't be able to take a break. He's got a point unfortunately.

 Hi Sammy

You should read FLUKE by James Herbert, I think you would love it.

Well the other half of the tag-line goes something like " or a man who thinks he's a dog! "

don't read many novels but that intrigued me for so many years I had to. Pretty good too - bit like a fairy tale with deeper meaning behind it.

I was nagged for about 3 years then relented last week. Your husband is weakening, time for the next phase of your plan, start visiting people with dogs :)

Or go with the old approach.

If you want a dog start out by asking or a horse.

The dog in question is a 7 month old labrador, someone I know breeds them, I have been offered him for the morning to take him out for a walk, so far I haven't taken him up on the offer, he has suggested hubby and I go round to see him without the kids, I am still waiting for an answer on that one! Hubby is convinced that once I see him I will want to take him home!

I haven't given up hope yet.

the problem is Steve only one of our friends have got a dog and that one barks quite abit so not the best one to start off with. Although he did comment a little while ago that someone brought a puppy into work and it spent quite abit of time on his desk and he thought it was really cute.

We have only been nagging him for about a year so I have a while to go.

Steve - how old is the dog and whats it called? Looks very cuddly, those eyes are just so lovely.
