I've been trying my hand at book keeping for many years now until a couple of years ago when I undertook the IAB level 1 and 2 book keepers course and the foundation level of AAT, I was then made redundant and haven't touched anything accounting for 3 years :(.
I have just started a new job and been given more responsibility for the accounts procedures, although the systems leave a lot to be desired but hopefully with my admin experience that will change so we actually check our purchase invoices against delivery notes lol and maybe a P number system for filing, but wanted to say thank you for the help (quiet reading) this site has given me in the past 6 weeks.
I work for a development company but there are 5 companies operating under the group, we use Sage 50 ver 12, I'm about to start learning Sage Project Costings so you could see me here a lot. Having spent many years inputting purchase invoices and raising sales invoices I now have to complete the 'end bit' Month End Procedure.
We have an inhouse accountant so I will be helping out although as yet have had no training in her exact systems I do know a lot of Sage reports are exported to excel and saved as csv files which is all new to me.
Nice to start getting to know you all :)

and losing Hackett was the final nail in the coffin methinks as both Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering were decent albums.
Oh, that's taking me back to 6th form days.
After years of brilliant music Genesis release "And then there were three" and Yes release "Tomato" and you just know that the 70's were well and truly dead.
My sons just got a new PC game called Brutal legend which is voiced by Jack Black with Ozzy, Lemmy, etc. Soundtrack is like a who's who of 70's rock.
There's a great little conversation in it where Jack Blacks a roadie for a new wave Rock band and he says to another roadie..
Black "Do you ever feel that you were just born too late" Roadie "You mean like we should have been doing this earlier man?" Black, "Yer' Roadie "Like the 70's?" Black, "No, earlier, the early 70's".
Unless you were there that lines lost on the people watching it... And to be honest the magnitude of it was lost whilst we were there... but just think of that lost era of the early 70's. Sabbath, Floyd, Purple, Skynard, Zep, Yes, Genesis, TRex... Right, now how exactly does this life on mars thing work as I've decided that I want to go back to 1971 and do it all again (but properly this time).
p.s. edited because I forgot Skynard.

Well, by the mid 80's you had to pretend to like at least one of those two if you wanted to be able to breed.
Just remembered. Wife #1 had a collection of Wham singles and LP's which when she went I gently warmed and turned into varying size plant pots.... Well, at least they were useful for something. lol.

I remember Wham, Madness and I really shouldn't admit to this but when I was in my early teens I went to a Shawaddywaddy concert! (probably spelt that wrong). And of course Howard Jones he was great.
PS welcome to the forum, almost forgot that bit.
