Please if somebody could help me with these questions.
Is it a mobile phone an Allowable expense for a self employed driver who use it in the course of the business and also for personal calls ?
The cost of the phone itself.... not always... look at this ( http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/guidance/480.pdf .... page 83 chap 22)
How the calls expense could be deducted if there are unlimited minutes and the calls are business and personal, is it ok if only half of the cost is considered as deductible expense ?
Been discussed several times and in different ways, but the cost of the bill can be allowable but you will have to work out what % of use is business and what is personall then divide the bill accordingly.
Does the driver has to record the daily tips for tax purposes ?
Its income, sadly, yes again look at this ( http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/eim07900.htm )
Many thanks,
Adrian
