Hi everybody!

I need to register a new Ltd company and I would be really grateful you can share your experience in this.

Did you form your company by yourself or used services of a formation agency?

Please, advise me on a reliable agency,  if you can.

Hi Julie,

I've not registered one myself but you can do it yourself through companies house. Have a look on the website for the charges etc. I am sure it can't be too difficult. Good experience,

I use 247 formations. It cost about £17

I always just use Companies  House web incorporator.

Only takes 10 minutes to do and costs £15. 

Usually charge out at £50 unless going to get some work off the back of it when I do it FOC.

 Hi Elaine, Thank you for your input.

I would do it myself, but what about the registered office address? I don't want to use my home address.

Otherwise you are right, it is not difficult.

Hi Julie,

I keep popping in and out of the site whilst doing other stuff.

Sometimes it will say that I am online but it will be on a tab buried somewhere in the oodles that I've got open so I may not actually be reading the site when it says that I'm around.

When you register a new limited company for the client use their address not your own. You can register them at your address, some accountants offer that service (at a fee) but personally it is not something that I would contemplate as its just too much responsibility on you.

Up to now I've used an agent to do mine. The agent retired last month and I've got two incorporations coming up imminently. These ones are for freinds so I'm going to have a go at doing them myself before deciding whether its something that I doing myself in future or continuing to outsource it... Just haven't done any incorporations myself yet so I'm not much use to you on this one.

I should have spoken to my guy before he retired as I have no idea at all where you purchase company seals from... They are not obligatory but combined with a nice folder holding the company essentials plus several copies of the memorandum and articles on good quality paper it made for a great premium service.

so the bottom line is to get the address from somewhere else, right?

I need to form a company for myself. There are so many agencies online who provide such services that I thought

I better ask people here.

Like Mark, I would use the Companies House online service, but that does mean you need to have a physical address for the registered office.

If you use a formation service that will also offer a registered address service, that might solve your problem, however, the formation service will charge an annual fee for the privilege.

Hi Julie

They have different packages, this one just gives PDFs of everything, which is all you need. You can even get £50 cashback, if you open a barclays account, which means you don't have to take any of that information with you, when you go to the bank, because they already have it. You just take your passport and a utility bill.  Then you ring 247 and ask for the cashback, once its set up.

I am not sure if they have a virtual reg office facility but like has been said, there's usually an annual fee for this
