It's possible to hide entire notes in VT. Via menus "VT Final Accounts"|"Autohide"|"Policies and Paragraphs". A pop up menu should appear. Select the policies/paragraphs that you want to hide and click "OK" (There is also a shortcut button that looks like a crossed out "ab")
(edit: to correct dodgy grammar)

I assume that you are talking about a note in its entirety rather than an empty note?
Notes to the accounts that are there are a requirement of the financial reporting standards to give further detail on information on the face of the balance sheet. They should not be removed as they are integral to the users understanding.
Even the abreviated accounts require some of the notes.
Which note were you attempting to hide and why?

using stock as an example - the company does not hold any stock as it is a service provider therefore i would have thought the stock note is not relevant
