I have a new payroll client who I am just running the first month's payroll for and they have taken on a new employee. I have double checked the details I am entering but the FPS keeps failing because of the above error message - The new Employee name :invalid NI table letter used.
My payroll software is moneysoft.
What I have noticed is that the leaving date on the p45 is 11/6/13 but the employees start date in this employment is 6/6/13 so there is an overlap of 2 employments for 6 days. Would this have anything to do with it?
Some NI Table letters are only applicable to females. C is only applicable to people of pensionable age Some table letters are only applicable to employees with superannuation schemes, in which case a SCON needs to be entered.
I spoke to moneysoft and it is sorted. It was because it was a mid year start, I had to go to tools, mid year start and found that the boxes for tax tode and NI letter were blank so had to put them in here! I have never had to do this before, I usually just enter this under new employee information without any problems.
