I need to bring an employee into the category where they don't pay NI but it still counts towards their pension etc. Is it the earnings up to LEL or the earnings LEL to PT?
His tax code is 262T.
If anyone could help me to calculate how much per month would take him into this category that would be great! Thanks!
I would say above the Lower Earning Limit (£473 per month) but below the Secondary Threshold (£641 per month). Primary Threshold is £646 per month.
To me the naming of the thresholds is wrong with the Primary one being higher than the Secondary one. Should have called them "Primary (Employees) Threshold" and "Secondary (Employers) Threshold".

I left it as "I would say" as I'm never 100% sure about anything. I'd wait a while before accepting this as a definitive answer. Don't let the 1341 posts on here fool you into thinking I'm the "Guru" that number of posts suggest. 1300 of those posts have been questions and 30 posts have been about sheep.

you're more of an expert than you give yourself credit for matey.
There are at least two posters that I can think of out there who have become guru's (actually, I think that one of thems now an expert) by only asking questions and never giving a single bit of advice.
Your Guru status my freind is well deserved.

You've actually been on the site far longer than any of the other experts (two years longer than me for starters).
Anyway, big well done on the milestone. Milky bars are on you, yes?
Next one is Master Bookkeeper at 2500 posts.
