Pre-Trading expenses

Hi All

Okay, I know this is really stupid thing to have done but I didn't keep all my receipts for my AAT training over the last three years (simply because I didn't think I was going to go down the self employed route) which I was hoping to claim (assuming I can claim training expenses) against my bookkeeping business.  Will my bank statements be enough evidence (i.e. bank statement shows "items like "Financial Training", "BPP professional training", "Osborne books") or will I have to forget about these?  I managed to keep the last couple of receipts.

Thanks

Bubs

P.S. Yes I know it was a silly thing to dono

Hi there

To my knowledge, learning a new skill is not allowable, keeping up to date is.

Thanks Michelle. So this means I won't be able to claim anything for my training nor my AAT subscriptions?

What about claiming 50% of my laptop which I bought this year with the aim of taking it to client's premises. Will I be able to claim 50% of the cost?

Sorry for what seems like obvious questions but I am just starting out and it feels like Im out to see without a rudder.

Thanks gain Michelle for replying to my query.

Bubs
