Phone call from Sage

Just had a phone call from Sage asking me about the software and various other things. I had a copy of Sage Instants at one time - to do my exams with, although it was a full version of the software. Because I hadn't upgraded this they were probably seeking my reasons. I informed them I was using their Client Manager version of Sage 50 and that's why I no longer needed the Instants. I also told them I was using Sage 50 Payroll. After a quick look on their computer they asked me about payslips and if I didn't use paper ones (as I obviously hadn't ordered any from them). I told them I did use paper payslips but I used the compatible versions from other suppliers. "Why?" he asked. "They are about a quarter of the price, that's why". I must admit I did enjoy saying it to him.

How can one payslip be better than another, does it show someone their net pay in flashing lights?

I have used 3rd party payslips before, and once you have your printer set up correctly there is no problem.

I instantly thought that Richard Branson's payslip must be much better than mine, regardless of paper just the number of 000's on it smile

Surely Mr Branson would be on the smallest wage possible and taking his money via other methods - or does that ruin the joke?
