Entries not showing in maintenance file
Permalink Closed

Hi

I hope somebody will be able to help me.

Normally when you make entries on sage it shows in the file maintenance in corrections. For some reason for the last month mine is not showing there, even though I can see the entries in the bank or in daybooks. I do know that when I back up all of my new entries are showing, but when I back up & restore my maintenance file is still showing that my last entry is 02/07/13

Thank you

Wendy

Do you have anything in your 'comments' box in check data - Im just wondering if you may have keyed something with a forward date? Or perhaps a really old date (although this will not show up in the check data box). Might be worth doing a detailed activity report and having a look, although I have noticed that Sage doesnt always show things in keying date order. Or go back to Bank and get your Sage reference and do a search on the reference (Im assuming you havent tried this already so sorry if you have!)

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position

You may have a search active on the corrections and financials screens, which isn't catching the new transactions. The two are one and the same in terms of the way the information is presented to you (the main difference being that on the corrections screen you can make corrections!) and, as such, a search set up on one is also active on the other.

If you look at the top right, this should indicate if you have an active search: there's an icon of a magnifying glass and IIRC it'll say "xxx of yyy transactions". If so, clicking the magnifying glass is a shortcut to display all transactions. (It does leave the search set up, though - to clear it properly, click on the Search button at the bottom left and remove the search terms).
