I loaded and paid for 12 Pay back in May. I have had massive problems with my computer and my husband tried a recovery which didn't work. I've now got to send my laptop away to be checked but still need to use 12 pay which is now no longer on my laptop anyway. I want to load it onto my husbands laptop - will it still have all the information I previously entered onto it?
I didn't have a problem changing it from one laptop to another. I rang 12 Pay and they were very helpful in helping me change over so no problem at all.
Do you not have a backup? It's not a problem transferring it from one computer to another, you just need to download the software from 12pay website and then retrieve your licence key. See here for instructions:- http://www.12pay.co.uk/CommonQuestions/MovingtoaNewPC.aspx
However, I think the data is stored locally, not on 12pay's site or in "the cloud", so if you cannot get the file from your old PC and you do not have any backups then I'm not sure you will be able to transfer your data.
Probably best to call 12pay as Amanda suggested, they are extremely helpful.

Panic over. Turns out I had backed it all up. Phew! Wish I'd checked at 3am this morning when I spent over an hour tossing and turning worrying about it!!
Thank goodness for that I would have been surprised if you hadn't backed it up. The software does a "silent" backup every time you move from one period to another apparently. Presumably you had the backup on another hard drive?
12Pay does a silent backup every time you advance to a new period, but this is more for convenience than for security, because by default it is in the same folder as your data, so any disaster to your PC and the backup is gone along with the original data.
One useful trick is to use the sequence "File / Open Existing Employer / Find Employer / Auto Backup Folder" to change your PC's folder for its automatic silent backups. You can for example change this to a "Dropbox" folder, or a folder for some other similar cloud synchronised backup system. If you do that you never need to remember to backup again, just periodically check the dropbox folder to make sure that all the new backups are appearing in it (and perhaps clear out the older ones from time to time)
