Anybody attending the Shropshire Branch meeting on Tuesday?
It will be my first ever branch meeting that I will be going to, so could someone be kind enough to give an idea of what happens at these events?
I think we are supposed to met in a public place called The Beefeater. How would I know who else is from ICB? I haven't been given any badge indicating so, to wear!!
I would suggest getting hold of an ICB Dollar Bill and flashing it around to everyone there lol, I am sure there will someone there to greet you and glad to hear you are going, good luck with it.
I shall be there on Tuesday and look forward to meeting you. There's going to be 11 of us, a mixture of students and practising people, male and female, so it should be a good first meeting for Shropshire.
With regards to where we will be - as you walk into the pub, turn left and follow along the front of the bar. At the end, go to the right and our 'space' is at the back. It's nice and private (from non ICB people) and you'll see the pull up ICB Shropshire Branch banner proudly displayed.
The meeting will be friendly and informal. The intention is to meet other book keepers and 'potential' book keepers from the area, so that we can help and learn from each other to enhance our careers. You'll have seen the agenda for this meeting - everyone will have chance to give thier input if they wish, or just listen if they're shy. At the meeting, if you have any questions about difficulties or queries relating to book keeping that you're having, this can be mentioned and others can give their take on it to help you on your way. If it's a subject that others aren't sure about, or others would find interesting as a topic in itself - it could be scheduled in as an agenda for a future meeting.
