I'd probably come if it was Birmingham Manchester or London - but I could probably be persuaded to go most places if there was alcohol involved ! Not been on here for months and months. good to see not much has changed with regard to banter !

Hi Gill,

welcome home,

yep, pretty much same as always.

Couple of arguements, few comic interludes, lots of techie replies.

Neil (Spam Kebab) now works for Premier.

Annual BKN awards have just happened.

Some of us are poorer, some richer, all in all we're all pretty much as you left us though.

Talk later,

All the best,

Shaun.

I reckon Brum is the place, Foxy can drive me down and back. It'll keep her off the Cooking Sherry!

Actually, I've got this cunning plan involving a magnet in the bottle and Michelle tricked into holding a horseshoe... Might just have an issue with the bottle flying at her rather than pointing at her but sure that we'll get that minor issue ironed out.

Think Michelle might need to start a sideline job of selling horseshoes after the BKN Christmas bash lol

Where there's muck there's money, Dave, and where there's horseshoes there's muck. So it sounds like a viable business idea.

I'd vote Birmingham, it's a bit of a long haul from Coventry but I'm willing to make the effort just to check out if people look like their avatars

And I of course never leave home without a leather flying cap and goggles.

Looking at the Avatars I actually think that Neils is a pretty good likeness.

Rob, think that your Rodney Avatar was closer to the original pic that I saw of you petting the goat (I know you think that its a dog but reccon someone sold you a pup... lol, see what I just did there).

Its been commented by several people that in the real world I have a passing resemblence to Bill Murray... My boy reccons thats why lost in translations my favorite film as its the only place that I get a flickering hope that Scarlett Johansson might in some universe be interested in me!

Lol great idea guessing who everyone is, I have met Nick so know who he is, seen many pics of Shaun so will know who he is and Michelle Fox will be easy to spot as she will have a male entourage judging by the posts on here. As for me, well my sunglasses hide a multitude of sins and I shy from the camera at all costs, in fact the ICB posted some pics recently one of which was of me, I must have been very drunk to allow my pic being taken lol, I used to think I was ageing and turning into a toby jug but due to recent photographic evidence this is indeed incorrect and am now looking more like Punch, with luck I will be able to find my Judy at the BKN bash and I can cook a mean sausage lol. That's the Way to Do it, oh and of course Judy and I will obviously have a Pretty Baby.

Rob I do agree a trip to Birmingham from Coventry is an awful long trek so I suggest when you embark on such an arduous journey that you bring a packed lunch and flask, oh and a Sat Nav. Will you be bringing Penelope or will she be staying at home looking after Mutley lol?

If this is going to happen we really should sort out a venue and date?

Dave

Just as I had imagined Tim!
Dave I'm afraid Penelope ran off with Peter Perfect a while back, so I'll get the train! I think Pauline will have feline characteristics so shouldn't be too difficult to spot lapping wine from a saucer perhaps?

We could of course look each other up on Liinkedin and then we will all know what we look like.

Shaun - I have looked you up and you don't look like what I imagined! Although it is only a face and can't see how tall etc you are.

Would love to know how you imagined me... No, no, I think that I can envisage it. Some towering Adonis like figure. I do appreciate that such is the image that many have of me but the real life versions somewhat more disappointing.

Just flicked through some old photo's and the only one's where I'm standing up with other people in the picture for reference points are Thai... I might as well be Gulliver standing amongst the lilliputians!

I'm about six foot and chunky... According to my boy his freinds refer to me as a tank... Not sure whether thats a good or bad thing in young people parlance.

Fingers crossed this bash will happen and we'll all get to meet up.... Without any name tags to see who guesses correctly.

Will never happen unless we can all decide on venue and date, Birmingham, nice pub. Lets get thinking Shaun?

Well lets get the ball rolling, I propose (but happy to be ignored as I'm used to it), a day in the week commencing 16th December at The Slug and Lettuce in Brindley Place.

First appologies from me. Sorry.

I'm pretty much fully booked until Feb. Specifically week commencing 17th Feb.

Excellent choice of venue though Rob.

Might I suggest something outside the centre of Birmingham? Perhaps a country pub just outside on a quiet lane! I am shocking at driving/parking in town centres, and I imagine the traffic will be horrendous/parking costs ridiculous (Manchester sure is)?? Perhaps Dave knows somewhere we can all find and park easily?

Hi Michelle,

Your absolutely right about parking in Brum. I live just down the road and I for one wouldn't drive into the centre. (closest I drive to is Hockley circus).

whilst we've got plenty of places off the beaten track, many of which are within spitting distance of the M6 the good thing about the centre of Brum is the ability to leave one's cars at home.

New street stations just stumbling distance from Brindley place and there are regular trains directly to London, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, etc.... So who knows where we would all end up after a couple of bevvies? (probably best you leave your passport at home... I've just got on the train in Hednesford and ended up in Bangkok before now (seriously, not a joke)).

I was thinking if we were near the train station more people would come and at least we can have a couple of Christmas drinks, but I'll drive if the consensus is for more of a country pub

I know some great country pubs but not too sure of the nearest train station to them, leave it with me and I will post a couple of options. Monday 9th Dec is ICB awards in London and probably better for a Friday or weekend where people can have a drink and not have to worry about going to work the next day?

Hi Dave

I hadn't realised that people would drink and not drive, hence the country pub suggestion. However, am happy to run with the plan and have looked into train fares and they are pretty reasonable, though I would be struggling to make a Friday in December.. so much is going on with friends and family in the run up to xmas. I will keep watching for what gets said and fit in as best as I can :)

 Hi Michelle

I have a few links here, have a look and see if there is any common ground as far as venue and date are concerned. How about Saturdays?

http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/thelittleowlsolihullnec/findus/

http://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?_adv_prop=image&fr=ush-mailn&va=boat+inn+catherine+de+barnes

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g1096384-d1381228-Reviews-The_Boot_Inn-Lapworth_Warwickshire_England.html

Think the best station for these would be Birmingham International/Solihull

Any other options most welcome

Dave
