I'm pretty much fully booked until Feb. Specifically week commencing 17th Feb.
Excellent choice of venue though Rob.
Hope this is a joke Shaun, you posted only yesterday you hoped this would take place so we can all meet each other, A BKN get together without your presence would be a travesty?

Hi Dave,
Christmas has been Feb right since my post of the 16th of October.
Think that maybe I'll have to attend just the real party where everyone else gets together first for the practice run.

Hi Shaun
You know what they said about Jack and his all work and no play ethic? Shamus will attend the ball, you have to? Please Please Please, do you want me to beg?
1) Who is coming, say it now!
2) Will you drive or train?
3) What day of the week can you arrive in Brum about 11am-12pm and be home by say 9-10pm, ready to work the next day?
If people are getting the train, city centre seems more wise
If people are driving, out of town seems more wise
Friday/Saturday so close to xmas is going to be full of xmas parties, so I would avoid.
The Boat Inn
222 Hampton Lane, Catherine-de-Barnes, Warwickshire B91 2TJ about 2 miles from Birmingham International Train Station, I can do any day will book it off as a networking event.
I'm in, probably come by train but if the Boot is just a couple of miles from Birm International I'll get a taxi from there. I can do 10th,17th, 18th (at a push) and 19th currently but days being booked up all the while!

Hi Rob 17th 18th and 19th all good for me, if these dates are good for the rest then game on, I know Nick and Spam are looking to attend as well. Could be the start of something good.
Sorry to say I won't make it this year.....I don't travel well, so it's too far for me....but I hope you all have a great time, take loads of pics and don't get too drunk...lol xx
pretty sure that I'm not going to be able to make it but just to pick up on a point.
I still think that Robs initial suggestion of Brindley place was the best as ease of access for anyone from anywhere.
NEC is fine but people would need to change trains at newstreet and get a taxi from International to the venue.
Just seems to be overcomplicating an initially simple idea of centre of Brum.
As I say, just a suggestion as I would think that the added complication of train changes and taxi's may put off one or two people from attending.

As the initial suggested for this came from Michelle and she preferred a country pub and the Boat just happens to be her favourite pub then for me it is the perfect venue. Coventry has direct route to Birmingham International and its only a 5 min journey in a taxi that's so easy for you Rob, in fact it is less mileage. There was never going to be more than 10 anyway so 6 is not too bad for the initial meet up, I think Joanne will be coming as well so there are 2 roses amongst 4 thorns lol. Anyway we can take a few pics and post them on here so next year it might appeal to more people.
Pauline doesn't like to travel and Shaun is too busy to take a day out, which leaves Nick and Neil so lets just hope they can fit in the dates specified by Michelle, if not then it could just be 4 of us, unless any late comers wish to attend. I am sure it will be a great laugh.
The Boot is in Lapworth and probably a pain for everyone - I can wait to go another time. I suggested the country pub as I thought people would drive down in the morning and drive back late afternoon, but seeing as you are all party animals (and I am not one to discourage that!) lets go with Brindley Place if thats nearest to the main train station... Lets get the date nailed so we can book tickets.. I am sure the prices will go up as the time draws nearer? I forgot which station I put in, but it was £16.50 each way.. I can live with that! Its 1.5 hours thereabouts, I was thinking to get a 10.30 train, arriving about noon.. then perhaps grab the one coming back which is directly before the prices shoot up!
Date. Date. Date!
PS - Joanne you better be coming, girlfren!
