I haven't a clue what to look for. Here's a snap from the Task Manager. One thing I did notice. The computer has been on for three days which seems about right - there was a power cut for ten minutes three days ago. I never knew I could find that time using the Task manager. I had previously used a tiny program called "UpTime" to see how long the computer was on for

Anyone else experience this annoying quirk of VT Transaction.....
If I'm using VT Transaction + but I then go away and use Excel and then copy something in Excel I'll then hear a beep and when I go back and look at VT various dialogue boxes pop up. I'll close them down but they just pop up again until eventually VT crashes.
Is it just me or has anyone else come across this annoying this about VT?

I quite regularly copy and paste between Excel and VT and this is not something that I've encountered.
The first thing that comes to mind is whether your machine has enough memory?
Open the resource meter whilst doing the actions and see whats happening to memory and CPU to see whether there's an issue with hitting capacity.
kind regards,
Shaun.

That looks like very high physical memory usage and it wouldn't take much to push it over the limit.
Try pressing the Resource monitor and click on the Memory tab
Click on the working heading which will tell you which processes are using up the memory to see if you recognise anything using up a large amount of memory that shouldn't be running.
It may pick up bits of spyware running in the background that your anti virus software thinks is too low a level to worry about but its still using up memory.
Next you can look at using some of your hard drive as slower access virtual memory.
Go to control panel - System - Advanced System Settings - Advanced
In the Performance box click Settings
Click the advanced tab
Go down to virtual memory and click change
My virtual memory settings are initial 9214, Maximum 18418
Thse things may squeeze enough additional juice out of your system but if not you may need to look at doubling your physical Ram.
On the bright side its not that expensive now, its easy to upgrade and you will find that you machine goes much faster and smoother and you will be able to edit larger files simultaneously.
Sure that people like Kris and Vince will have other suggestions but as I say, looking at that physical memory usage it looks to me as if thats the problem.
Hope that helps,
Shaun.
