Can anyone help with how to deal with dividends in VT transaction+. I've just taken over from an accountant, I need to enter the Dividend amount from the yearend TB (dr) £24,000 and amounts paid in year for Sep £3000.
Calling all VT experts for some advice as I'm really stuck with this one
For normal dividends the analysis account would be P&L / Equity Dividends
Preference shares are different but I doubt if your dividends relate to those.
For Opening Balances from the TB you use the Opening Balance Contra for your full set of accounts to give you your opening position (the same as you would with any other non start from scratch set of accounts... Just type Opening Balances in the VT Help for instructions on how to use the Contra account... Personally I use the Journals method).
