I've been reading this forum for a while, you have unknowingly supported me through gaining up-to-date qualifications and I am now setting up my own business.

I am tearing my hair out looking for business insurance, that is to insure my computer, printer and so on, which sit comfortably in my home, against a visit from an arsonist, thief or similar and offset the cost of decamping to serviced offices for a short period should the need arise.

Can any of you recommend a company? If anyone has had to make a claim, can you say how well the insurers handled things?

Hi Annie,

Direct line business insurance seems to be quite reasonably priced and covers all force majeure events, Public liability, etc.

Thankfully I've never had to claim through this insurance so no idea how good they are when they are actually needed.

but don't forget to also compare against Hiscox and Morethan to ensure that you are getting the best value for your money.
