I'm using Sage 50. There comes a question that I need your help. I am going to compare the profit and loss for this quarter and the same quarter of last year. But I can only get the data for this year. How can I get the data for last year or only previous years?
To my knowledge, Sage wont do this, unless you run longer reports and do your own analysis. But I am hoping one of the Sage guru's will correct me, as I would find that really useful, too.
The way I would do it, is to run a nominal activity for those 3 months (P&L codes only) and collate the balances into a spreadsheet to create a P&L - the balance being the profit
Assuming the data is available in Sage in the first place, I have an Excel file that will give you the monthly and quarterly Sage data for the current year and 5 previous years. I'd be happy to give you a copy. You'll find my contact details at the web address below.
Regards,
[Edited to reflect a change I've just made to the Excel file to include quarterly as well as monthly figures]

Hi Crina To get the data for last year - restore a backup taken just prior to doing your year end routine, run the report but then dont forget to restore the correct backup before you start keying again.
