Quickbooks & Payroll
Permalink Closed

HI All,

I have a new client who wants me to do their payroll. I have invited them to use Quickbooks as they are not currently using an accounting system and this is the cheapest option for them. However, if I set myself up as a payroll bureau then it gets very expensive using 'the payroll site' which integrates with Quickbooks.

So, my question is, am I able to use 12pay instead and then just raise a payroll journal in Quickbooks? I asked someone at Quickbooks but they didn't seem to know the answer.

That's what I do - use QB for bookkeeping and 12Pay for payroll and enter monthly journal.

That's great, thanks Sasha. I may well be back for help if I get stuck!

Hi, yes this is exactly what I do as well.  I use 12pay for the payroll and then just enter the journals into QB.  At another client's I use Moneysoft for payroll and enter the journals into Sage

I didn't find QuickBooks payroll very user friendly so I use Moneysoft and then put the amounts into QuickBooks afterwards.

We use SAGE payroll and post the journos into QuickBooks online and our Xero product. you can set up recurring transactions in QB for regular journos, helps save time. Anand
