Right, I don't know whether my brain is puddled at the moment due to the Jan 31st deadline and working till silly O'clock but I have had 2 conflicting emails from Iris.
Pasted below:
Happy New Year from IRIS Support!
To help you prepare for the year ahead, this email has been put together with some important support information and useful tips.
Payroll Year End - no requirement to send P14/P35 to HMRC in 2014!
It is important to note this is the first year end where there is NO requirement to send a P14/P35 electronically to HMRC. Under RTI the process is much quicker and simpler, the old 19th May deadline for P14/P35 submissions no longer applies. Instead you must send your final FPS and/or EPS before 19th April 2014. Contained within your Year End upgrade will be a dedicated RTI Year End guide which will walk you through the process step by step.
So , I think great!! No worries!!......THEN I get this one????????
Have you prepared for the 1st RTI Year End Procedure? Are you clear on the complexities of auto enrolment?
Call us now on 0844 815 5700 to find out more.
At IRIS, we believe that being proactive about payroll legislation, is much wiser than being reactive. So much has changed in 12 months in the payroll marketplace, its sometimes hard to know if you are doing the right thing.
There are 2 main topics that we are being asked about at IRIS currently on a daily basis:
1.The 1st RTI Year End and why its so important- Contrary to what we at IRIS thought last year, the payroll year end process has NOT gone away. In fact, this year, it actually feels more complicated than ever. If you are one of the many customers who doesnt know about your obligations this payroll year end, dont panic, we have the right course for you. We cover what you have to do, when you have to do it by, KEY pit falls, Hints and Tips of payroll best practise, and a basic introduction to AE. RTI is the biggest change in payroll history and this is the first year end following that process.
We want to help you as much as we can in this ever changing market place. Knowledge is power the more you know, the more you can be proactive about your business.
I think that the key in the second email is "we have the right course for you"!!! (nuff said)
Sure that someone more knowledgable of RTI than myself will be along imminently but for now I don't personally beleieve that your original perception of matters was too far from reality.
kind regards,
Shaun.

I just checked the dates on the emails... the first one I received 16th January 2014 and the second one 21st January 2014..
I use other payroll packages as well and don't get this conflicting grief from them!!
Thing is, I have been on a few of their courses and thought it was just a ploy to extract more money from me....scare mongering springs to mind. And I think it will get far worse with Auto Enrolement looming......
(I love Moneysoft by the way)

hi Georgie Looks like a marketing ploy from Iris to me. I get loads of emails and to be honest I just delete them (dont know why I havent spent a whole minute to un-subscribe...note to self...do that!) Im not worrying about AE yet, mostly cos all of my clients are not set to start until 2015 and later (will deal with that one later in year). Moneysoft and Im sure 12Pay will provide the necessary info soon, without panicking people! I love Moneysoft too and 12 Pay!

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.
You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
In the Iris Paymaster help menu they have a year end guide for 2013????? Of course you can buy the year end CD from them for £99.00 + Vat which will talk you through the process of year end!!
