GE Capital UK internal audit team will primarily provide audit assurance on higher risk areas within the relevant UK business or function acting as audit lead or team member. The role will also be responsible for undertaking continuous monitoring to support the audit planning process and risk assessment. In addition as part of the wider GE Capital Audit organisation the role will from time to time support global horizontal audits and projects.
This role is accountable for the following:
Risk Monitoring and Assessment:
Develop close working relationship with one or more business or functional management teams. Identify opportunities to tap into existing business operating rhythms in order to undertake continuous risk monitoring of the relevant businesses.
Drive the annual GE Capital UK level risk assessment process for the relevant business or functional areas, working closely with CAS, Credit Review and IT to provide a clear view of key risks within these auditable units.
Audit Planning:
Develop audit plans for the relevant UK business or functional area, ensuring audit plans provide
appropriate coverage of higher risk areas and meet relevant regulatory requirements and expectations.
Audit execution oversight:
Proactively work with other members of the team to ensure all audits in the relevant business or functional area are executed in the most efficient manner, ensuring "one face" to the customer.
Ensure audits are delivered in line with methodology and with the audit plan approved at the beginning of the year, and that audit reports issued meet quality expectations.
Reporting:
Ensure all audit reports issued are fully understood, and actions agreed with UK senior management team.
Support the Head of Internal Audit in preparing regular reporting to SLT and Audit Committee.
Ad hoc and project work:
As required by the GECA European leadership contribute to or lead certain European-wide initiatives or audit programs. At certain times, the Internal Audit Manager will be required to spend time in other regulated European businesses supporting local audit teams achieving their annual audit plans.

Desired Characteristics:
Professional Audit or Accounting qualification gained in the big 4 environment
Second European language
Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) or internal audit experience preferred
