Collecting fees by DD

I read a post a while ago about collecting client fees by Direct Debit.  I'm sure it was on this forum but I can't find the thread now.  There was a particular company that quite a few people were using, who they all recommended and said that the rates where good.  Does anyone know who they are?  Thanks!

Hi Jo,

was this the thread :

www.book-keepers.org.uk/t49277222/standing-orders-or-direct-debits/

or this one :

www.book-keepers.org.uk/t49753761/how-do-i-accept-direct-debits/

Just a suffestion for a start point. Personally I use standing orders so can't be of much direct help.

kind regards,

Shaun.

Thanks Shaun, but it's not the one.

People were actually talking about a certain company that they use, and I remember when I looked them up I was surprised at how good the rates were. It was about 6 months ago.

Perhaps someone else will remember when they're read this...

Have a look at GoCardless. 1% of invoice with a maximum of £2.00. No set up costs or contract.

Regards

Gordon

Plus 1 for GoCardless!!!!

I use it on all new invoices, it adds a button on my invoices for people to pay online, and also if i set up the back end the client fills in two informations screens, 1. personal details, 2. bank account details, third screen... BAMN... thankyou! you get an email saying client set it all up.

The ONLY downside is that the money collected stays with them for up to 7-10 days then is sent to you. (this is how they get around the 1% service charge i suppose)
