New staff codes (any odd ones?)
Permalink Closed

Hi

Ive started to get the new tax codes for 2015 payroll clients and for one company Ive just received a couple of odd looking ones.

Now whilst dont know the personal tax issues of the staff concerned, I do know that a couple of years ago HMRC sent out a load of incorrect ones for code 89T.

Today Ive got one at 89T (!!) and one at 483T wef April 2015.   Both will have changed from 944L

I did have an 'in year' change from 944L to BR a couple of weeks ago and it was completely wrong!!!

Just wondered if anyone else had received some 'unexpected' changes, before I double check with HMRC (and spend 3days on the phone trying the get through, no)

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
