Hi,

Unfortunately large chunks of the ICB site being closed to non ICB members means that they are not always getting the best advice over there (James, if you read this will you please scrap the idea of only allowing ICB people to talk to ICB people as its not doing them any favours when they are asking technical questions).

A recent post over there is asking about VT but I cannot answer it as its in the Software section. I could post an answer in the introductions area but that just messes up their compartmentalisation and doesn't directly link to the question being asked.

Pretty sure that we've got quite a few people here who are ICB members who read both sites so please could someone tell TonyJ to either post his questions about VT over here or alternatively if for any reason he doesn't want to pop over here someone just tell him to do this search in Google

Site:www.book-keepers.org.uk VT

Plus

Site:www.accountingweb.co.uk VT

Plus look especially at these links :

www.accountingweb.co.uk/group/vt-software-discussion-group/tutorials

and

http://www.book-keepers.org.uk/t56633560/vt-hints-and-tips/

Also, someone please tell Lady of Ledger whose looking for someone to give a VT demo to her group that Ray Stewart who posted the VT video blogs is just down the road from her in Coalville.

Many thanks for whoever posts the relevant bits of the above over on the ICB forum,

kind regards,

Shaun.

Hi Shaun

I replied to Tonys post and via a seperate email exchange I told him about your VT thread here as I knew it would be helpful to him!

It is daft that you were restricted from answering that one and I have to agree with you that limiting responses to only other ICB members isn't necessarily a wise move.

I'm sure I'm not alone in recommending ICB members to look over here as well.

Victoria

Well, Shaun, you've probably got the idea why I do almost everything via this board, instead of the ICB one.
This one feels like a proper community; the other like Big Brother is watching your every post.

Hi,

We used to be an ICB training provider, fully accredited and checked out etc by the ICB, but i was restricted from certain areas of the forum!  I initially started posting ansers in other areas of the forum, but it just became disjointed and a mess, so i just give up!  I thought that if I wasnt deemed as useful as those souls who pay a membership (although our annual training provider fee was far more than an annual sub) I would just stick to BKN where everyone loves everyone equally
