Hi,
I have seen a lot of adverts (mainly facebook) where the company can help employees that wash their uniforms they are made to wear at work. Has anyone been asked about this by a client?
Is it true? I bet there is a whole load of criteria to satisfy first..
Thanks
Stuart
When I worked in a bank with a compulsory uniform, the PAYE notice of coding included a £60 flat rate allowance for cleaning the uniform. Seems to still be the rate, hopefully this link may work! http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/EIM32480.htm
Also mentioned on Martin Lewis website (it's a bit easier to read than HMRC lol)
You'd be very surprised Sharon. People are scared of HMRC forms. Self assessment is normally pretty straight forward too, but how many people pay us to do it. It's about playing to your strengths too. Cutting my grass is easy, but I'd rather pay someone else to do it.
Kris I suppose that's true, some people would rather pay someone else than pick up the phone-I remember when I was employed by my last company I wrote to hmrc for all 500 employees to claim it -had to list everyone's name and Ni number -what a pain that was (before technology allowed us to extract that sort of info from the software ! )
And yes -I would rather pay someone to cut my grass too
