Irish tax code and NI number - how to change to UK tax code and new NI number

Hello

 

I have a friend who moved from Ireland 5 years ago and has been working in the UK, she has an Irish NI number and is paying emergency tax.

She has been to the job centre and filled in a form to get a new NI number and to try and change her tax code. She has not heard back from them and it has been 6 weeks.

Is there a telephone number that she can call to check the progress and sort this out?

Does anybody know anything about the kind of thing? she's been paying emergency tax for a very long time and now wants to sort it out as soon as possible.
