Changing Agent Details
Permalink Closed

Morning All,

Quick question.......

I've just gone from being a sole trader to a limited company. I've advised HMRC with regards to MLR that I've changed the business structure, but what do I do about my agents details?! When I log onto the agents page on the HMRC website it just states my full name, not my sole trader business name. Do I need to register as a new agent (as a company as opposed to as myself) and set all of my clients up again, or simply leave it as is as I'm the only person involved anyway?! Help!

Liz

I think you can ring HMRC and tell them so they can update the records. I didnt need to set everything up again

Hi Liz

Best to write write to them . Just say you are writing to inform them of your new business name etc, change of address/email if any. The address is HM Revenue & Customs, Central Agent Authorisation Team, Agent Maintainer, Benton Park View, Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE98 1ZZ .

Don't forget to change your email address in your HMRC on line services.

Georgie
