Payroll set up help

Please could you advise how to set up the payroll for this member of staff who has been given a 92T tax code as this is a second job.

The employer is basically paying them £182 per week net (payroll is run monthly as advised by accountant) but because of this tax code it means that she is paying a lot of tax.

Im confusing myself on how to set it up.

Thanks

Sam

Hi Sam,

Looks like the other job pays the best part of £9k per year. Barring any other complications in their tax situation, you'd expect the other job to have a coding of 908P (10000 - 920). If neither of these are the case you can ask the employee to contact HMRC (good luck) to find out if their is another reason why they're on such a low coding.

One hopes that an advantage of RTI will be sooner revision of inaccurate tax codes.

Looks like Gross £227.50 less £45.5 p/w tax

Kind regards,
