Hello I have been using VT+ for sometime now and I LOVE it!!!
Best software I have ever used.
I'm thinking of upgrading to VT Accounts Suite - and I want to know if it is worth the extra £238.80 per year for me and what I do.
The reason I want to use it is because I do lots of SATRs and a few partnership returns and I like the print outs that I have seen (from accountants) of the statement of accounts - it looks to me that this is all automatically filed in whilst you are entering transactions.
What I really want to know is if it is worth spending out all that money for me with only simple tax returns - just looks like it could save sometime and looks more professional.
I understand that it can be linked to some fancy tax return software (which I can most certainly not afford) to file the returns but can it be linked directly to HMRC to do this?
It is only £238.80 for the first year after that it's £150 plus VAT.
It certainly looks more professional. I just go for the filling in the trial balance option rather than have it fill in the items as I go along. I think it was because when I first tried it out I had created extra categories and it was taking me too long to figure out how to do things and I went for the easier option of just filling in the trial balance.

I am a major fan of VT but from what you have said, it probably wont benefit you much.
It will produce financial statements in the correct statutory format for companies, and allows iXBRL filing to HMRC & Co House for CT.
It does produce financial statements for sole traders and partnerships etc in the correct format but does not allow for online submission, without compatible tax return software.
Personally I use a print out of the tax data format within VT transactions to manually fill in soletrader tax returns on HMRC, and use Andica for partnerships.
One of the main reasons I use VT Accounts, is because I like to present the clients with a bound set of accounts.
