Registering new Ltd for PAYE and SA
Permalink Closed

Hi all.

I has just done my first registration of client for Company Tax and now waiting for authorisation code. Shall I need to request separate authorisation  for PAYE now or it is done automatically?

When an how do I get PAYE reference and accounts office?

Please help.. This is my first client as agent..

Thank you!

Hi Nina,
All this can be done by logging into hmrc with your agent credentials. You will be able to set up the company for PAYE by selecting 'registering for HMRC taxes' from the main menu at the top left corner and then just follow the instructions. To be the authorised agent you would go to the main menu again (once the PAYE scheme has been set up) and select 'authorise clients' and again follow the instructions.

Thank you Rob!

I am a bit confused for the process at all. I work for HMRC agent that offers all this services. I have been asked to apply for CT, PAYE and SA for new Ltd company.

I have started with CT and now waiting the code. When I will be able to see PAYE reference for this company to proceed further? I assume when I have finished with CT registration for this client after submitting the code then I can see all the information in my list of clients. I am not sure I am right.

Nina, you need to set up the PAYE scheme first (Unless someone has already done this?), as I said, do this via the 'registering for HMRC taxes'. Once the scheme is in place then apply for authorisation. A code will be sent to the client who needs to pass it on to you and then you just enter the code to get the authorisation. If you are working for an accountant you may need to get him/her to give you access to their agent gateway so you can complete the job.

Thank you Rob!
I have been thinking I am doing registering for CT but this is simply authorising. I have asked agent to send me instructions to finish this task. I had a look to 'registering for HMRC taxes' but will wait for instruction as this is my first registration and I don't want to get the things wrong. Thank you for clarifying this for me!
