Instant Sage bank reports
Permalink Closed

Hello, I have loaded my Sage instant onto a newer version of Windows 7 and it is performing differently which has thrown me completely.  Main problem, though, is when I want to generate Bank report for Monies received, it says no data sent to that report.  Payments is working OK.  I am useless with report designer and would appreciate any simple instructions to help, please. Thank You

Is this a current version of Instant? If not it may not be compatible with Windows 7 and you'll need an upgrade. I'm years behind with Sage and Windows versions, but I experienced this with versions of Sage some years ago.

If you can't save any report as a PDF, then it would be the PDF generator not being the 64 bit version but the 32 bit version.

You should be able to download an updated driver from www.sage.co.uk/au to fix this

Thank you, it's 2012 and it runs perfectly on Windows 7 Home version.  On Windows 7 Professional it's different, runs OK with wider variety but as I say, I've lost several reports but t's the Bank Receipts that I need.

Thank you. One of the two bank reports I want generates and I can save that to PDF although I don't do that, I print it. The other one doesn't generate at all.

Some of what you say is confusing...

"On Windows 7 Professional it's different, runs OK with wider variety but as I say, I've lost several reports"

I don't understand what "wider variety" means it should be the same.

Do you still have access to the old system? Go to help and About and check that it is the same version number on both.

Did you restore your data and your reports from your old system or just the data? If you still have access to the old system you could backup the reports only and restore them on this system.

What is the name of the report that returns the error message?

what version of Sage Instant are you running? Help>About

Sorry for delay, Bruce

Full story, short version:  I have Sage Instant Accounts Plus V12, Sage 50 accounts 2012 Version No. 18.1.0.20.

I run it at home, where I work and have it loaded in the office I report to.

At home  I have Windows 7 Home version, Sage was set up for me by a Sage 'expert' when I transferred to my new pc a year or so ago.  All defaults had been set up for years.

Just helping our village community centre to upgrade it's office equipment / programmes and tried loading my Sage to save them buying a programme.  It's loaded fine onto Windows 7 Professional but looks and acts differently.  Now shows graphics and a customer dashboard etc. I'm managing that OK but I expected to be able to access all reports as set up before, but as I say I can't get Bank Reports> Day Book Bank Receipts> BNKBRD.

I am not at the new computer at the moment so can't answer from there, but can report back if you give me questions to answer.

Almost sorry I tried this but can't change programmes now, have moved across 6 months data

Very, very grateful

Thank You

Janet

Instant Accounts Plus is a CUT DOWN version of Sage 50 Accounts

Lot of reports that run in Sage 50 do not run in Instant accounts, Not all reports that exist in Accounts Plus exist in Accounts

"tried loading my Sage to save them buying a programme" almost sounds like piracy, I assume I am misunderstanding something.

If they own a copy of Instant Accounts Plus V12 it will not be the same as the Sage 50 Accounts V2012 (aka V18) you own.

If you have restored V12 Instant Accounts Data into Sage 50 and converted it to V2012 (18) then you will not be able to restore it back to their copy of V12 Instant Accounts, they will have to buy an upgrade to the current Instant Accounts Plus to be able to restore their data.

Oh dear!  My Sage programme has previously loaded onto several pcs ( during replacement pcs here and at the office ).

A brand new, pc was purchased for the community centre and I loaded my Sage onto it, thinking that if it worked and was ok, It would be OK to do so.

It loaded fine and I started from scratch to set up a new company, all has gone well except for this one report I want and can't generate.

Am I a pirate?

Since Sage Instant is typically sold as a single user* package, then where you've installed it onto another computer during the process of upgrading from one to another, that's okay - provided that once you've got the new installation working as you wish you then remove it from the older computer.

However, if you install it on more than one computer to use concurrently - or if you use it for more than one company - then you need to head down to the fancy dress shop pronto to purchase a suitable hat, eye patch, hook, and stuffed parrot.

* You can buy multi-user licences for Instant, though I can't remember the price (certainly a lot less than the tax they charge on its bigger brother) - but IIRC that's still just for one company.
