I am AAT Intermediate qualified (gained 2004) and I am currently completing Level 4, distance learning. Its a challenge after having 10 years of no study!
I work for an company as the accountant, sales/purchase/nominal/bank recs/vat/payroll/accruals/prepayments/credit control/payments/ basically all that can be done along with producing P&L, TB & BS monthly. Year end is handled by external accountants re tax between the companies. There are 3 companies with shared ownership, one started 2 years ago when I joined so I produced all the accounts for this manually, no software in sight!.
Trouble is, im not really happy here, hence trying to become full AAT qualified. Ideally I want to get into the NHS possible as a Management Accountant, or at least work where there is a chance of progression. My problem is that I dont know where I fit in. I have not much experience in management accounts, and I am not yet full AAT. All the jobs seem to be either full AAT or really basic at band 2 and I cant really take an £8k salary drop.
What do people recommend I look for in a job? I enjoy having a wide variety but I dont want to be limited working for family firms where I cant go further. I have 15 years experience but really feel disheartened by the vanacies that seem to out there. Even when I am qualified, I still wont have the right experience.
Any ideas, inspirations, stories of hope would be appreciated.
