Registering for VAT in Germany

Hi

Does anyone have any experience of registering for VAT in Germany?  Just wondered if there are any pitfalls I should look out for or 'best Practices' I should be aware of.  Ive no idea where to start, although truthfully havent done much research yet.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

Not come across that one, Stuart. MUST do some research, just putting it off cos I find vat reading soooo boring, but it's got to be done. Fortunately I have a bit of time!!
