Im trying to do an RTI submission. But I think the credentials may be wrong :(
The previous bookkeepers have given me the HMRC login details they had, which is for VAT- is it the same log in details for PAYE? The previous bookkeeper said they used their own software (So am I!!)
I've logged off so can't check it, but I'm fairly sure my software only let's you put one gov gateway code in so it's got my agent one. I also recall some facility online via HMRCs website so accountants could file PAYE info using their agents code for non agent clients, although they couldn't obviously access their customers records at HMRC.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.
You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
You can use your agent code without authorisation I have done it a number of times. That's not to say that you shouldn't get authorisation asap, as you should always do this.
