Taking over payroll - how do I know how much of the employment allowance has been used up?
Permalink Closed

Hi I have taken over the payroll for a partnership with 2 employees part way through the year (week 27). Is there a way for me to find out how much of the employer allowance has been used up?

I have been using 12pay and entered all the figures to date from the P11 sheets.

Is there something else from the previous bookkeeper that I need to get?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Rachel

Hi Rachael,

P32 or anything with the amount of Employment Allowance claimed.

If the Employes NIC's on the two employees is less than £2000 then that should have been the amount claimed so far.

Regards,

Tim

Also make sure you have 64-8 in place and contact hmrc and ask them what's been claimed.

Take the two employee NICs paid to date, divide by 12 and x by 13.8   That will give you the employer figure to date.

Is on the P32's what has been used up so far. Ask for a copy.
