New Naughty Client Game
Permalink Closed

I received a phonecall this morning from a criminal lawyer friend of mine. She has a new client who wants to ensure that her new business stays the right side of the criminal law and the civil law too. My friend suggested my practice for keeping her business transactions above the law.

So here's the game! What do you think would form cost of sales expenditure for a DOMINATRIX?

biggrin

Well, there's her clothing, perhaps? At least it would be 'wholly and exclusively' for business use.....but not Cost of Sales.

This is really interesting!

Sorry, can't read the line criminal lawyer without thinking of Saul Goodman.

You don't need a criminal lawyer, you need a "criminal" lawyer.

Now, you probably need their advice before progressing this as whilst what the potential client is doing is not illegal some formas of advertising it are.

Use of home as dungeon would be the same as use of home as office.

How does the client prove that clothing is wholly and exclusively for business? That one is going to end up the same as the suits for work arguement.

An important factor that I consider when looking at potential clients is not just whether we "could" work with a client but whether we "should" work with a client as regardless as to our own moral standpoints would acceptance of such clients affect our own or our firms image and reputation?

Also consider that this whole scenario is littered with duality of purpose pit traps (towels, bedding, cleaning materials, etc.)

lol, it's actually just that you need to be a bookkeeper or an accountant to understand our jokes (SSAP9 and Financial Instruments, chuckle).
