Housing benefit, WTC Help needed Please
Permalink Closed

Hello, Its my first time here, but i have been searching for some time for an answer and found this place, i hope its the right place to ask as i'm not an accountant.

Anyway, I am self employed and on a low income, as such i have recently started to receive Housing benefit that i need to top up each month to cover the rent on a (private rented flat) home based business.

I also receive some working tax credit. My question is: should i be including any of these things in my book keeping and / or tax return? - I understand that housing benefit is a non taxable income, so should i just disregard it?

Any advice is much appreciated, many thanks.

No both are non-taxable income and don't go anywhere in the tax return
